St Mary's Cathedral

A large cathedral in Sydney.
This is the site of Australia's first Catholic church, with the foundation stone laid in 1821.
The building was destroyed by fire in 1865, rebuilt, and completed in its current form in 1928.

Built in the English Gothic style, it's an impressively large and grand structure.
The exterior, constructed from Sydney sandstone, makes for a striking visual.

Located right next to Hyde Park, it's very accessible and free to enter.
Along with Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne, it's considered one of Australia's most iconic cathedrals.
Note that visitors are required to cover their shoulders and knees when entering.
