Review

While visiting Dongdaemun Market on the weekend to run some errands, I looked for a good place to eat lunch nearby, found this spot that looked nice, and decided to visit as a walk-in.
Thanks to arriving a bit early, we were able to enter right away without a reservation, but the guests who arrived right after us had to join the waitlist immediately.
If you plan on visiting here, making a reservation in advance would likely be a good idea.
The menu was simpler and less extensive than expected, and ordering was done via a QR code at the table.
We were quite hungry and curious about several dishes, so the two of us ended up ordering three items.
First, I chose the Truffle Perilla Seed Acorn Sujebi without hesitation.
Wondering what else to get, I figured it was a great chance to try chilled boiled pork, something I rarely eat, so I picked the Chilled Boiled Pork & Spicy Cold Dao Xiao Mian.
Worried the portion might be slightly lacking, we also ordered the Aged Kimchi Beef Tartare Roll as a side.
Normally I would have gone for the potato pancake, but potato pancakes filled with cheese aren't really my preference, so I opted for the beef tartare roll instead.
Shortly after placing the order, the dishes came out one by one fairly quickly.
The Truffle Perilla Seed Acorn Sujebi was pretty much the taste I had imagined.
It didn't look like much perilla seed powder was used at first glance, but the perilla fragrance came through surprisingly rich, which I loved, while the truffle aroma was subtle from the use of truffle oil.
The texture of the hand-torn noodles was firmer and chewier than typical gnocchi, so I enjoyed it thoroughly.
The Chilled Boiled Pork & Spicy Cold Dao Xiao Mian is meant to be eaten by wrapping the spicy mixed knife-cut noodles in thinly sliced cold boiled pork.
It was my first time having chilled boiled pork itself, and because it was chewier and cleaner-tasting than expected, I definitely enjoyed it.
The spicy dao xiao mian had a bit of a kick, but personally, rather than wrapping it in the meat, eating them separately suited my taste and style much better.
The Aged Kimchi Beef Tartare Roll was a familiar taste that anyone would recognize, but it was certainly delicious.
Overall, we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered.
However, perhaps due to Seoul prices, the price point was generally on the somewhat expensive side.
