Review

With the recent surge in cooking-related variety and survival shows, I had naturally grown quite fond of chefs in general.
Naturally, I found myself developing personal favorites and silently rooting for several of them.
When I came across this show, what caught my interest was that rather than being a simple cooking competition, it fell under a much broader category: a restaurant business survival show, which piqued my curiosity enough to check it out.
Looking through the cast, there were many familiar faces I was delighted to recognize, alongside hidden industry experts I was introduced to for the first time.
In particular, I was pleasantly surprised to realize that someone whose recipes I often learned from on YouTube was actually a renowned chef prominent enough to confidently compete on this show.
Throughout watching the program, what resonated with me deeply once again was the reality that simply making delicious food is never enough to succeed in the restaurant business.
It reminded me that running an eatery is an arduous and unforgiving journey where survival demands excellence across every front—not just flavor, but location, service, speed of preparation and serving, and uncompromising hygiene.
Not that I ever had the aptitude for it to begin with, but it firmly reinforced my resolve never to recklessly jump into running a food business in the future.
At the same time, I hoped that watching shows like this would serve as an opportunity to broaden my perspective, allowing me to appreciate the hard work and systems behind any restaurant I visit down the road with a bit more maturity.
Seeing true professionals fiercely clashing within their craft was a truly inspiring experience that provided a great deal of motivation for my own daily life.
