Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)

To be honest, I haven't watched all of the Marvel series, so I can't say I watched this movie with a perfect understanding.
Still, I did some previewing of the general context before going.

Fortunately, it didn't seem to be heavily connected to the previous series.
Of course, the catch is that I don't know enough to even distinguish what is connected and what is not.
Still, I didn't have much trouble following the overall flow of the story.

For your information, this movie also has a post-credits scene, which seemed like a major teaser for the subsequent series.
But, as expected, I don't know exactly what the situation is.

Every time I watch a Marvel movie, I always think it would be nice to watch all the movies and drama series in order.
But there are so many series that I can't bring myself to do it.

After watching, I also looked up other people's reviews, and the reception was surprisingly good.

Looking at the reviews, many said that Peter Parker has matured significantly in this installment.
They mentioned it portrayed him growing into an adult through loss and separation, departing from an immature hero. I also felt that the tone was definitely heavier than in the previous series.

I also learned for the first time that Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi, was in charge of directing.
Perhaps because of that, martial arts film-style slow-motion action sequences stood out in various places, and many reviews evaluated this part positively.

However, some reviews pointed out that this movie felt more like a sketch for the next series rather than a complete story.
Some described leaving the theater with a strange sense of emptiness, and I think I felt similarly while watching the post-credits scene.
Since even someone like me who doesn't know much could feel that, it must have stood out even more to those who are well-informed.
