Directors Arena Season 1 (2026)

While browsing around, I heard that the short drama genre is getting a lot of spotlight lately, so I watched this show to see what it's like and keep up with the trend.

To be honest, I didn't watch it with full focus; I just had it playing in the background while working on a personal project.

Perhaps because the short drama genre needs to grab people's attention in a very short time, it felt like a world solely chasing after dopamine.
Since it's the world of short-form content where people swipe to the next video if the pacing slows down even slightly, the progression was fast, focusing mostly on plot and stimulation.

Personally, I prefer the emotional flow of the characters revealed during the storytelling, the directing that expresses it, and the director's hidden intentions. So, to be frank, this world didn't align well with my taste.

However, interestingly enough, I could feel that no matter how fast-paced it is, the actors' performances remain a crucial element.

It was a good opportunity to observe which way current trends are heading.
