Haedong Pork Rice Soup

I visited this place after it was introduced on YouTube.
If I hadn't seen the video, I would have definitely passed it by without a second thought.

It's a pork rice soup restaurant, but uniquely, everyone orders pork belly.
They operate a butcher shop right next door, so you can grill and eat fresh meat immediately.

I let my guard down and visited a bit late, and the wait was long.
You can go inside and write your phone number and the number of people on the waiting list at the entrance.

There were about 10 teams ahead of us, so I thought we'd get in soon, but since everyone was having meat and drinks, the wait time was much longer than expected.
In the end, I was able to enter after waiting for about 2 hours.
I thought I should call ahead for a reservation or go early next time.

As soon as I entered, I ordered 3 servings of pork belly and a large beef tartare.
The prices are very affordable.

The pork belly is a flower-style thinly sliced pork belly.
Since it cooks immediately when placed on the grill, you can put one on at a time as you eat.
The meat is so fresh that it's very savory, and it pairs well with any side ingredients.
However, eating just the meat was most my style.

The beef tartare I ordered together was also very fresh.
The seasoning wasn't too strong, so I could enjoy the natural flavor of the meat.
At this price, this level of quality is a taste you could never find in Seoul.

The portion of meat wasn't small, but since it cooked quickly and was delicious, I kept eating without realizing how full I was getting.
I couldn't order more because it got a bit greasy eating only meat, but if I had ordered pork backbone stew to go with it, I would have ordered more meat.

Seeing other tables making fried rice, I thought it was on the menu, but everyone was making it themselves.
Regulars make delicious fried rice themselves by adding green onion salad, ssamjang, and various side dishes.

I thought we should definitely try making fried rice if we visit again.

As a side note, the payment system is via bank transfer.
