While visiting Gangnam on some business, I decided to look for a nearby BBQ restaurant for dinner.
Since I didn't know when the work would wrap up, I couldn't make a reservation in advance.

The popular BBQ spots near Gangnam Station all had waiting lines, so we wandered around here and there.
Looking toward Sinnonhyeon Station, slightly away from Gangnam Station, there were places with shorter or no waiting lines.

In a hurry, I searched again for BBQ restaurants near Sinnonhyeon Station.
Checking reviews and reservation platforms, the rating was high and there happened to be no wait, so we headed to Dongraejeong Sinnonhyeon Direct Branch.

Tucked in the corner of an alley, I wondered if there were few customers, but the seats were almost fully packed and they even had their own waiting system.
I felt like we had found a true hot spot.
Fortunately, we were seated immediately without any wait.

We first ordered 2 servings of Dongrae Pork Neck, the most popular menu item, and 1 serving of Jeong Gabeurisal.
The pork neck came out first, and the staff grilled it attentively right by our table.
This place is famous for the accompanying meljeot (anchovy dipping sauce), which can also be ordered additionally, so I looked forward to it.

Once the pork neck was grilled to a golden crisp, we ate it together with the side dishes and meljeot.
It was a flavor that showed why it earned such high ratings.
Personally, dipping it in meljeot felt like it masked the natural flavor of the meat a bit so it didn't impress me too much, but I still kept dipping it anyway.
If we had ordered rice together, mixing it with the meljeot would probably have been delicious.

Next, they grilled the Jeong Gabeurisal, which was just as tasty as the pork neck.
We additionally ordered Mi Galmaegisal and Mul-Milmyeon.

I didn't originally plan on having a dessert dish, but because that day was unusually hot and we sweated a lot, I craved something cold and ordered the mul-milmyeon.
Actually, the bibim-milmyeon is said to be more popular here.

The Mi Galmaegisal had an impressive, uniquely chewy texture.
The Mul-Milmyeon was eaten simply for its cold and refreshing taste, without feeling particularly special.
I think that's because I have had delicious milmyeon in Busan before.

Overall, it was a satisfying meal.
